Rememberances by Ed Dekker

Jan,

I just wanted to let you know that Leonard (and you) have been in my thoughts.

Leonard was my friend. We had not seen each other in the last few years, but we were still friends, I knew we would eventually have time to catch up. Friendship like much in life goes through stages. I think of the early stages of my friendship with Leonard, we worked together and saw each other daily. We still spent some of our free time together. I remember the trips out for Chinese food and time at his apartment with Jan and Leonard. In the next stage of our friendship, Leonard and I moved apart physically yet still talked on the phone frequently and visited. I remember my visits to California visiting with Jan and Leonard ( brunch in Chinatown, touring Napa and Sonoma, even visiting Fry's and configuring a PC) , and Leonard's trips visiting Massachusetts. Later Leonard and I had less time to keep in touch, the trips to the other coast were not as frequent and when they did occur there was little extra time in the trip. Phone calls and visits with Leonard became less frequent. I never doubted that Leonard remained my friend and that we would communicate more when we both had more time. Leonard was my friend.

I regret that I was unable to travel to California for the service this weekend.
