I remember Leonard in Pittsburgh, PA, when we had the most wonderful group of
friends I have ever had through the CMU Computer Science Department.  Leonard
and Jan were together then and it was always so much fun to go to their place
for an evening.  Leonard was fun, with the same twinkle in his eye that he had
in that 8/26/02 photo.  He had more hair, of course.  I am sure that warm
sense of humanity and friendship that he left in my memory has been
experienced by many of his friends since.  It is a great sense of loss to
think he is gone.
